Booking Domestic Flights
How to book
Online Flights can be booked online, just go to the appropriate airlines website using the links at the top of the schedules pages on this site and enter your dates. Flights can be booked online up to 24 hours before departure.
Select your origination and destination, choose one way or return, input your dates and the number of passengers then follow the on-screen instructions to select the best flight.
Have your passport number and credit card ready and remember that some airlines insist that the cardholder must also be one of the passengers. You will then usually be given the reference number of your "e-ticket". Even if you forget this number, the airlines will usually be happy to check you in at the airport desk after seeing your passport.

On the Flight
Restricted Items are not allowed to be taken on board the plane. These include syringes, explosives, poisonous items, cans containing gases (aerosols), any flammable or radioactive items, alcohol, matches and lighters. Unsurprisingly, guns and knives are also prohibited.
Currently there is also a restriction on taking any liquids on-board in containers with a capacity greater than 100ml. This includes drinks, toothpaste, gels and cosmetics.
Check in times.
Always check in for your flight one hour before the scheduled departure time. The check in desk will usually close 40 minutes before the flight. It is your fault if you are late!
Luggage Weight Limits.
Check your luggage allowance with your airline. Most allow two pieces of check in baggage and the weight restriction is usually 15 - 20kgs. You will be charged for excess weight. The dimensions of cabin baggage should not exceed 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
Other things to remember.
- All flights have a strict no smoking policy.
- Most airlines no longer require the reconfirmation of bookings.
- Cancellation of tickets is subject to the conditions of the airline. Budget airlines often do not give refunds.
- Thai Airways advise obese passengers to fly first class or Royal Silk Class where available, or to purchase 2 seats if traveling in economy
class.
- It is generally accepted that pregnant women should not fly after the 36th week, but this will depend upon the flight time. Check with your
airline for their rules.
