Air Asia Celebrate Flying 100 Million Passengers
After 8 years in operation, this week Air Asia have announced that they have flown over 100 million passengers.
The low cast airline has been monitoring their reservation system to find customer number 100 million who will receive a special gift.
Discussing the increase in the company's aircraft numbers and new routes they are putting in place, Regional Head of Commercial, Kathleen Tan remarked that the length of time expected to reach the 200 million passenger mark: "May be within the next three to five years."
Meanwhile, Asia Pacific readers of travel news publisher, TTG have voted Air Asia as the Best Asian low-cost carrier.
About 48,000 votes were cast in a poll which was held from June to August.
"This award reflects AirAsia's commitment to excellence and to growing travel and tourism in the region. We have flown 100 million guests in only eight years of operations as a low-cost airline that has made it truly possible for everyone to fly," said AirAsia chairman Datuk Aziz Bakar.
