Pattaya Utapao Airport UTP

Pattaya’s nearest airport is U-Tapao International Airport, both an active civil airport and home to the Royal Thai Navy First Air Wing (U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield). During the Vietnam War it was a front-line base of the United States Air Forces.

U-Tapao Airport is situated in the town of Sattahip, about 45 minutes from Pattaya and around 160 km from Bangkok Airport. However, if you are flying into Thailand it makes more economical sense to fly into Bangkok and then take a bus or taxi service to Pattaya which takes around an hour and a half, not a lot longer than travelling from U-Tapao airport to Pattaya. Bangkok Airways has a daily flight to Koh Samui and Phuket from U-Tapao and Orient Thai Airlines operate flights to/from Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket.
