Krabi Destination Guide

Krabi is a small city, with no beaches of its own and so visitors generally head straight to Ao Nang or Railay Beach. Krabi province covers a large area including two national parks and has a multitude of natural attractions and islands, lush forests, captivating coral reefs, caves and waterfalls. Limestone karsts form tranquil islands, towering rocks of limestone masked in green and outlined by the glittery white sand beaches. Undersea attractions include snorkeling and scuba diving where you can explore hidden caves, many used for nesting by swallows.

Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park.

Covering an area of 390 sq km, the park consists of limestone mountains alongside white sandy beaches, stunning islands and coral reefs. Some of the major attractions in the park include; Ao Nang, the beach center of Krabi Town and Krabi's most developed beach, backed by a wide range of accommodation including resorts, bungalows and guesthouses. It can get crowded in the high season; Railay Beach can only be reached by boat. The cape of Railay is surrounded by the Andaman Sea, lush jungle, and twisted rock. It has plenty of activities for the adventurous amongst you, especially if you enjoy rock climbing. It also allows those of you who just want to chill out the perfect location to do just that. What can be better than scaling an immense limestone face with a tropical jungle and the cobalt blue ocean sparkling below?

Tonsai Beach is a great place to hang out or go climbing with a chilled out, hippy atmosphere; Fossil Shell Beach is known as the shell graveyard with a thick layer of fossilized snail shells from over 40 million years ago; Ko Phi Phi Don & Ko Phi Phi Le have jagged rock cliffs and rolling hills enclosed by the ocean, underneath which is a bank of coral reefs and exotic marine life. In Koh Phi Phi Le you can see the Tham Viking, a large cave full of swallow's nests and ancient paintings of Vikings' boats and Ao Maya is a beautiful white sandy beach a great place to dive and snorkel.
