Thai Airways Booking Information
Thai Airways is Thailand’s largest airline and the country’s flag carrier. Operating out of the Suvanrnabhumi International Airport, it has a fleet of 92 aircraft ferrying passengers to 72 destinations in 35 countries worldwide.
Passengers flying Thai Airways are allowed to make advanced reservations from a maximum of 11 months to a minimum of at least 6 hours before flight departure, except for certain destinations like Manila (at least 72 hours before departure), and Jakarta and Denpasar (at least 12 hours before departure).
There are four methods to book and buy airline tickets at Thai Airways. Passengers can opt to reserve and pay for their tickets at any Thai Airways reservation and ticketing office found in ticketing counters at Thailand airports.
Thai Airways also has an electronic ticket purchase facility via its website where passengers can book their flights online from between 2 to 24 hours before their chosen flight’s scheduled departure.
A third method, through Self Service Kiosks, allows passengers the added convenience of “Checking In” or “Mileage Checking” options in nine of Thailand’s domestic airports: Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Chiang Rai International Airport, Phuket International Airport, Phitsanulok Airport, Khon Kaen Airport, Hat Yai International Airport, and Krabi Airport.
Provided in both Thai and English languages, the touch screen technology of these Self Service Kiosks offers user friendly processing of requests from 12 hours down to half an hour before departure of passengers’ scheduled flights.
While passengers can make reservations and pay online, with attendant taxes and surcharges in the local currency of their place of origin, they will be notified if the they make their online reservations from cities where online payment is not available. Thai Airways accepts Visa or MasterCard for online payments except in countries where laws require the passenger’s signature on the credit card’s sales slip.
As a fourth method, passengers are also given the option of booking and buying their Thai Airways flight tickets via accredited travel agencies in their locality.
